Dog owners looking for a reason to dress up with their pets have one: Canton Township's Pumpkins and Pups event brings a costume contest, live entertainment and free giveaways to the Canton Dog Park on Oct. 11, 2026.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park, located at Denton and Cherry Hill Road. It's free, open to all ages and requires no pre-registration.

According to the Canton Township event listing, dog owners and their pets can enjoy live entertainment, purchase pet merchandise from local vendors and receive free giveaways from pet supply and service businesses. The township encourages attendees to "dress up with your pup" for the costume contest.

The Canton Dog Park also hosted Bark in the Park in May 2026, a similar event with live entertainment and vendor giveaways. Pumpkins and Pups follows the same format with a Halloween twist.

Non-members of the Canton Dog Park must show proof of up-to-date vaccination for rabies and DHLPP, signed by an accredited veterinarian, according to Canton TODAY Magazine.

Trick or Treat Story Trail: Oct. 10, 1–4 p.m. (select start times), Heritage Park Pond Area, 1150 A. Canton Center Road. Families can trick-or-treat in costume along the story trail. Pre-registration required; tickets are $10 per person for Canton residents and $13 for non-residents.
