Plymouth-Canton Community Schools families must complete a required online check-in for every K-12 student in their household by Monday, Aug. 31, the first day of school.

The district opened its 2026-27 Back to School Check-In on Thursday, Aug. 13, giving families just over two weeks to log in to MISTAR Parent Connection and update each student's medical, demographic, transportation and contact information. Aug. 31 is also the first half-day morning session for all K-12 students.

The deadline is significantly earlier than last year. In 2025-26, the check-in deadline was Sept. 29, nearly a month into the school year. This year, the district is requiring completion before students walk through the door.

The district said the check-in is a required process to ensure it has current information for every student. Families must complete it separately for each child in their home.

Who needs to register for transportation

Families should also use the check-in to register for bus service if their students qualify. Elementary students living more than one mile from their school and middle or high school students living more than 1.5 miles away are eligible for district transportation.

How to complete it

Families log in to MISTAR Parent Connection at sisweb.resa.net and click the "Back to School Check-In" link in the top right corner. The system walks users through on-screen prompts to verify and update information for each student.

The check-in replaces paper emergency cards, generating a digital emergency record for every student once submitted.

At the P-CCS board meeting on Aug. 12, 2025, Superintendent Monica Merritt described the annual process as one that updates "important medical, demographic, and contact information" and produces each student's emergency card.
