Local businesses and community groups can volunteer to sponsor games at Plymouth's annual Old Village Halloween Block Party on Sunday, Oct. 25, under a new sponsorship program from the Plymouth Old Village Association.

It runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Old Village, with a trackless train, bounce house, games and candy for kids, according to an Oct. 12 organizer-written post.

OVA's new Game Sponsorship Program lets families, neighborhood groups, service clubs and local businesses inquire about sponsoring a game. Sponsors volunteer to run one game and provide candy or small prizes for participants. OVA provides the game setup and overall event coordination. Sponsors get signage at their booth and recognition on OVA's social media and newsletter.

"This is a great opportunity for groups that want to connect with the community in a fun, personal, and family-friendly way," Karen Sisolak, an OVA board member and Plymouth city commissioner, wrote in an Oct. 12 post on the Plymouth District Library's Substack.

The Block Party is one of six events OVA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, organizes each year. Sisolak called it one of the group's most volunteer-intensive events because of its family focus. Monetary sponsors and donations cover overhead costs separately from the new game sponsorship effort.

The post does not specify the number of available game slots or a sponsorship fee. Groups interested can email [email protected]. Sisolak urged early sign-ups, noting the event takes time to coordinate.
