Voter turnout in the City of Plymouth reached 72% in the Nov. 3 general election, with 6,005 of the city’s 8,340 registered voters casting ballots, according to the city’s unofficial results report.
The City of Plymouth posted the 11-page Election Summary Report at 10:53 p.m. Tuesday, with all precincts reporting. The results remain unofficial pending the county canvass.
Plymouth’s ballot stretched across more than a dozen contests. Statewide, voters weighed in on the races for governor, U.S. Senate, secretary of state, attorney general and two state ballot proposals — one on a constitutional convention and one on campaign contributions.
Closer to home, the ballot included the 6th Congressional District race, State Senate District 5, State House 22nd District, Wayne County executive, 35th District Court judge and several judicial seats on the 3rd Circuit Court bench. Voters also decided on three Plymouth-Canton Community School District board seats, a partial-term school board seat, four Plymouth District Library board seats, Schoolcraft College trustee positions and three millage questions covering the Detroit Zoo, the Southeast Michigan Public Historical Museum Authority and Schoolcraft College operations.
As we reported Nov. 4, Jocelyn Benson declared victory in the governor’s race. Abdul El-Sayed won the U.S. Senate seat, as we reported separately. U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell was projected the winner in the 6th Congressional District, according to reporting by the Detroit Free Press.
The city’s full report, broken down by early voting, Election Day and absentee ballots, is available on the Plymouth city website. ClickOnDetroit also posted Plymouth-area results, including school and library board totals covering their respective districts.
Plymouth-specific vote totals for each race and ballot question are listed in the city’s PDF report.
