Canton Township families can grab free pizza, make art and listen to live music outdoors on three consecutive Friday evenings starting Oct. 2 at Preservation Park.
The "Fall Into Art" pop-up series, organized by the Arts Warehouse at Cherry Hill, runs Oct. 2, 9 and 16 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the park, 500 N. Ridge Road. Admission is free, and the event includes pizza, cider and seasonal snacks, according to the Canton Township events calendar.
Local artists and tenants of the Village Arts Factory studios will lead hands-on craft activities each week for kids and adults. Each session also features live acoustic music.
The returning series is separate from the 32nd Annual Canton Fine Arts Exhibition, an indoor gallery show on display through Oct. 30 at the Gallery at Cherry Hill inside the Village Theater. That exhibition holds its free artist reception on Thursday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Kevin Ryan, program director of the Arts Warehouse at Cherry Hill, coordinates the Fall Into Art series. In an Aug. 26 press release about the related ARToberfest festival, Ryan said the fall arts lineup at Cherry Hill Village has drawn growing interest and described ARToberfest as an evolving fall destination for families.
Preservation Park reopened in July 2025 after renovations. Its new pavilion earned the American Public Works Association Michigan Chapter Downriver Branch's 2025 Project of the Year award in the Quality of Life category for projects between $1 million and $5 million, according to Canton Township.
