Canton Township's Village Arts Factory has a new name: Arts Warehouse at Cherry Hill.

The Partnership for the Arts & Humanities announced the rebrand Tuesday, Aug. 11, saying the name honors the building's original purpose as a warehouse while giving the creative space at 50755 Cherry Hill Road its own distinct identity apart from the adjacent building undergoing renovation next door.

That adjacent building, the original Henry Ford factory in Cherry Hill Village, is nearly done being converted into a community center Canton Township will call "The Factory." The township owns and operates that renovation project.

The two historic buildings will function independently but serve as complementary spaces in Cherry Hill Village. The Partnership, the nonprofit that runs Arts Warehouse, said it plans to program The Factory with community arts events while continuing to operate its own building.

According to the announcement, the change is immediate.

Community program director Kevin Ryan oversees programming at Arts Warehouse, which draws more than 10,000 residents a year to classes, exhibitions, festivals and events, according to Canton Township's website. Canton Parks, Recreation & Community Services holds an official partnership with the nonprofit, which awarded $51,300 in grants in November 2025 to support 13 arts and cultural projects across 12 Canton-area organizations for 2026 programming.

The name change also comes as the township's Historic District Commission reviewed plans in April to expand the parking lot at the site with new spaces and planters.

No opening date has been announced for The Factory.
