Canton Township announced its holiday trash collection schedule Oct. 28, outlining one-day delays for routes affected by Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.
The first change comes Thursday, Nov. 26, when Priority Waste will suspend collection for Thanksgiving. Thursday and Friday routes that week will run one day later, according to the township’s announcement.
Friday routes will also be delayed one day following Christmas, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1, 2027. Monday-through-Thursday routes are unaffected during those two weeks, under Priority Waste’s holiday policy.
Priority Waste operates on a five-day collection schedule across Canton Township. Residents unsure of their regular pickup day can find the interactive collection map on the township’s trash collection page.
Separately, the township announced Oct. 27 that the final curbside yard waste collection day this season is Dec. 18.
Residents with questions about refuse, recycling or yard waste can call Priority Waste at 586-228-1200. If an issue remains unresolved after contacting the company, Canton Township Public Works can be reached at 734-397-1011, ext. 0.
