Free Friday concerts in Kellogg Park continue through Labor Day weekend

Power Play Detroit is scheduled to perform Friday, July 24, at 7 p.m. in Kellogg Park as the Bank of Ann Arbor Music in the Air series heads into its second half of summer, according to event listings on LittleGuide Detroit. The show is free, and so are the seven remaining concerts running every Friday through Sept. 4.

The Plymouth Downtown Development Authority organizes the 14-week series on a stage at 777 W. Ann Arbor Trail. Event coordinator Reiko Misumi-Schelm manages the programming for the DDA, which is led by Director Sam Plymale.

Attendees can drop off blankets and lawn chairs in the park starting at 3:30 p.m. on concert days. Items left before 3:30 p.m. will be removed. Alcohol is not permitted in the park.

For those who can't make it in person, concerts are live-streamed on the Downtown Plymouth YouTube channel. Selected shows are also simulcast on 88.1 The Park radio.

Friday, July 24, doubles as a full downtown day: the Inside-Out Summer Sidewalk Sales run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. along the downtown corridor, according to the DDA's July newsletter, giving shoppers a reason to arrive early and stay for the music.
