Plymouth residents in Area D need to get their leaves to the curb by 7 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9.

City crews will collect bulk leaves curbside in Area D through Friday, Nov. 13, according to the city’s newsletter. Crews must be able to reach piles from the street.

The city posted a map and schedule showing which neighborhoods fall in each pickup area.

What to keep out of the pile

The city listed several guidelines to keep collection safe and on schedule:

  • Leave space between parked vehicles and piled leaves. Heat from vehicle exhaust systems can ignite leaves, the city warns.
  • Keep drainage openings uncovered. Remove leaves from storm drains regularly so water can flow.
  • Keep other yard debris and materials out of bulk leaf piles. This includes grass clippings, small branches, corn stalks, pumpkins, dirt, rocks, firewood, stumps and root balls. The city’s yard waste rules allow grass clippings, leaves, branches and yard debris in brown kraft bags or marked compost cans, but exclude dirt and rocks.
  • Make a separate pile for limbs awaiting brush chipping.
