Schoolcraft College voters approved the renewal of the college’s operating millage on Nov. 3, backing the measure by a 2-to-1 margin, according to unofficial results cited by the college.

College President Glenn Cerny announced the result in a statement posted Nov. 4 on the college’s website.

“Unofficial results show our community overwhelmingly supported this effort by a 2-to-1 margin,” Cerny said.

The renewal will provide stable revenue for the college through 2038, according to Cerny’s statement. He said the funding “will allow the College to better budget in the coming years, as well as provides meaningful support for programs that benefit the community.”

Schoolcraft College serves northwest Wayne County. Plymouth and Canton residents fall within the college’s district.

Cerny credited voters directly in his statement, saying the college “will continue to evolve and support an ever-changing educational landscape to better serve our constituents, including our talented students.”

The results remain unofficial.
