Plymouth residents in Areas A and B may see discolored water or low pressure over the next month as the city flushes and tests fire hydrants.

The city's Department of Municipal Services announced Friday, Oct. 2 that the annual program starts this month, belonging in Areas A and B. The department said the work will last about one month.

Any discoloration comes from natural minerals stirred up during flushing. The water remains safe to drink at all times, according to the city.

Residents who notice discolored water should run their cold tap for several minutes to clear the lines.

The city did not define which streets or neighborhoods fall within Areas A and B. Residents can check by contacting Municipal Services at [email protected] or 734-453-7737.
